Sportland

Sportland is a chain of retail stores in Latvia specializing in sporting goods for all seasons. They carry only high quality brands for women, men and children. The selection is fairly good. Prices are on the high side until the products go on sale and then they are comparably priced to other countries in western Europe. The staff are fairly well informed and are friendly. Many speak English.

I purchased a new North Face winter parka there and the price was better than in the US when on sale. Unfortunately the coat developed a rip near the zipper that was not repairable. I took it back to the store. They took one look at it and immediately exchanged the coat for a new one. No problems, no complaints, no bullshit. Just took care of business with a smile and I walked out with a new coat. Now that is the way a business is supposed to be run.

This is one retailer that I will do business with more often now and will recommend. If your experience with Sportland has been different let us know if you feel inspired to. I feel that businesses should be held responsible for their bad service and complimented for their good service.
