Daily Specials Restaurant is the former Fazer restaurant on the 5th floor of Stockman department store in the Riga city center. They serve a few dishes buffet style each day and then some freshly cooked entrees that you can choose from and watch being prepared.
The wok dishes look quite tasty and are very fresh. The salads look good as well although they are priced on the high side.
I had spaghetti Bolognese cooked up fresh by the chef behind the counter. It is amazing how absolutely tasteless and greasy someone can make Bolognese sauce. I could not finish eating it. I had fresh squeezed orange juice with my meal. It was very sour and I drank it quickly. Fortunately I had some anti-acid pills with me and was able to counteract the effects of the meal.
All in all though most of the meals look fairly good and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend this place for lunch. Just avoid the Bolognese sauce.
