Even though the Riga Black Magic Bar is not a restaurant I wanted to include it here at Riga Ratings. It is a very cozy and interesting place to stop in for a coffee, pastry or a drink. It specializes in concoctions made with Riga Black Balsams. Personally I am not a fan of Balsams but the Black Magic Bar offers enough tasty treats that it is well worth going there.
It is designed around an 18th century pharmacy theme which is in keeping with the historical roots of Latvian Balsams. From the handblown windows to the old wood ceilings it is well designed and cozy. It is a great place to escape from the cold on a winter’s day or from the crowds on a busy summer day.
The prices are very reasonable and the food quality is good. I highly recommend the Riga Black Magic Bar.
