Antica Roma

Antica Roma is a cozy little restaurant in the Riga city center.

The owner, Antonio, uses a Roman theme in the restaurant. It is a nice, friendly, quiet and cozy atmosphere and a good place for business meetings or a private rendezvous.

The menu is typical central Italian food. Portions are just sufficient. Unfortunately the food is not that tasty. The red sauces need more garlic and a bit more salt. The pizza is just OK, nothing special. The prices are a bit high for what you get in my opinion. The average dish is 5 Lvl, $10 USD. By the time you add water, soda or wine you are spending 7 Lvl, $14 USD, for lunch. The food is not worth that.

The service is very good. The wait staff are attentive, friendly and want you to have a good experience. They will ask you how your meal was and if you need anything else.

I have brought many of my friends here and none of them have been impressed enough to want to come back. They also say that the restaurant needs better air circulation to remove the kitchen smells.

Despite that I still like Antica Roma as a place for business meetings when the food quality is not so important. Antonio also sells some very nice Italian food products and wines that he imports from Italy.
